Review | Jakarta Conversation Sofa Set

Good morning all!
Today I have a review for you all of the gorgeous Jakarta Conversation Sofa Set from the ASDA furniture range in Charcoal we are in the process of sorting our garden so it looks a bit like a tornado hit it at the moment! So we decided to set it up at Ben's parents as we had planned a BBQ there for the weekend anyway so there were plenty of seats for everyone!

I must've been living in a shell for a few years because I had no idea ASDA even had garden furniture, and I was pleasantly surprised at just how much they offer! When we were given the opportunity to review something I spent about 2 days browsing and struggling to choose exactly what we wanted! We finally decided on this and boy did we make the right decision!

Packaging
The set came flat packed but it was also in one huge box which didn't fit through our front door nor over the back either (we have steps leading up to our garden), so the only option would've been to open the box and take bits out piece by piece, although it wouldn't take too long, it's just a little bit of a pain! As I said above, we were planning on setting it up at Ben's parents for now, so they happily picked it up and we got unpacking! Everything was tightly packaged and had no damage whatsoever! Definitely 5 out of 5 for that!

Features:
Lightweight aluminium frames for sofa, chairs and table which won't rust!

Fully woven seats and backs, giving greater support to the cushions, but can be used without the cushions if necessary too!

Chair and table frames include stainless steel bolts as standard, to give improved corrosion resistance against wet weather

2 wide and extra deep arm chairs, ideal for long afternoons in the sun

A large double seat sofa, with 120cm internal width, and 70cm deep seat cushions

A 100 x 52cm colour matched coffee table with toughened glass

Cushions are made from heavy duty exterior grade spun polyester!

Removable cushion covers with zip fastening for easy cleaning

Finished with an all weather poly-rattan weave in a 2 tone dark chocolate brown

"The Jakarta Collection combines traditional styling with modern materials to give great quality, stylish garden furniture. The Jakarta range includes all the furniture and accessories you need to transform your garden, whether you're interested in outdoor dining and entertaining, or simply relaxing with the family."

Comfort
The one thing that everyone mentioned out of everything else was just how comfortable this was, a lot of outdoor furniture we've tried have had cushions that sink down once your weight is on them, however these simple mould to your body and support your back too, I think a few of us could've happily had a nap on them! Haha. I love that the armchairs are extra wide, they feel more like snuggle chairs and you can properly put your feet up and get comfy, perfect in the Summer for BBQ's and gatherings but also in the colder months, snuggle up with a fire pit and a hot chocolate, bliss!

Measurements
Table:
Width 100cm
Depth 52cm
Height 42cm

Chairs:
Width 77cm
Depth 78cm
Height 69cm

Sofa:
Width 137cm
Depth 78cm
Height 69cm

Overall I am super impressed with the quality and comfort of this set, I will be honest and say I wasn't sure what quality to expect but I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely be recommending this to friends and family! For now we will be keeping it at Ben's parents for Abbie's upcoming Birthday party in September, so it's definitely going to be well used, especially if this sunshine stays!

Review | Gousto | Bulgar Risotto with Grilled Goat's Cheese

You may remember our reviews a few months back for the Gousto box, we loved the meals so much we were thrilled to have another opportunity to review some more! I love new meal ideas and trying foods i've not had before! If you've not heard of Gousto, here are some details below which I took from the previous post :)

Gousto is an amazing service which provides you with a box full of yummy, healthy and nutritious ingredients for certain recipes, every week you get the chance to choose from recipes on the website, which are updated every week, ensuring you don't cook the same meal twice! The recipes are then delivered right to your doorstep once a week so you decide when to cook! From delicious pasta bakes to oriental stirfrys, with different cuisines from Italian to Chinese, Indian to Caribbean, with plenty of meals to choose from you'll find it easy to choose meals to suit the whole family!

I have taken pictures of the prep and cooking below, along with everything you need to know about how to cook the meals we were given! Don't worry if you're not much of a cook, these are so easy to do and can be done by anyone, also there's no worry about using too much or too little ingredients, everything comes in the exact portion needed for you so no food waste either, perfect!

So onto the first recipe..

Bulgar Risotto with Grilled Goat's cheese

What drew me to this recipe was the simplicity, i've watched on shows like Masterchef and Hells Kitchen where they cook risotto and it's always done so quickly, it seems like the perfect meal for those hot summer days where you just don't want to slave away in a hot kitchen! I've never cooked risotto before, nor have I ever tried Bulgar wheat, so I was a little nervous but excited to try them too!

The ingredients for this recipe are;
(for 2 people)

3 x Tomatoes
150g Sugar Snap Peas
10g Rosemary
155g Bulgar Wheat
30g Parmesan
Goats Cheese
1 x Red Onion
2 x Garlic Cloves
Vegetable Stock Cube
1 x Lemon
1tsp Chilli Flakes

ONE
Boil the kettle
Dissolve the stock cube in 500ml of boiling water
Cut the lemon in half

TWO
Now get all your prep done, chop up your tomatoes, onion garlic and rosemary and finely grate the parmesan!

THREE
Add some oil to a frying pan and once hot add your onion and cook for 3 minutes until softer, then add the garlic and mix together for a further minute.

FOUR
Add the bulgar wheat and stir, allow to tots for 4-6 minutes, reduce heat to medium-low.

Add the rosemary, half the stock and chilli flakes if using.

Allow the stock to absorb - stir constantly.

Preheat the grill to a high heat

FIVE
Once all the liquid in the pan is absorbed, add the tomato.

Add the rest of the stock gradually, allowing it to absorb and stir constantly.

Cut the goats cheese in half crossways and put under the grill for 5 minutes (we left it in for almost 10)

SIX
Whilst the cheese is cooking, add the sugar snap peas and mix well. Add the juice of the lemon and cook for another minute or until the bulgar is cooked through.

Tip: If the risotto becomes too dry, gradually add a few tbsp of water.

SEVEN
Add the parmesan to the pan and remove from the heat.

Season to taste.

EIGHT
Serve with the grilled goats cheese on top and drizzle with olive oil!

And you're done!
This was both Ben & I's favourite meal we've had so far and will definitely be making it again, it was so full of flavour, colour and is super healthy too! Abbie loved the bulgar wheat and the sugar snap peas too, win!

Review | Pacapod Changing Bag

Hello!

Today I have a review of the Hasting's Changing bag from Pacapod! Pacapod was created by clothing designer and Mum of two, Jacqueline Waggett, her aim was to create a bag that you can reach quickly, easily and with confidence, something that had enough space for ever tying but without having to route through a regular bag only to be confronted with a half
eaten sandwich & a handful of raisins! Jacqueline launched PacaPod at Harrogate Nursery Trade Show in 2008. Since then it has been enthusiastically snapped up by busy parents, celebrities such as Peaches Geldoff, Jo Whiley and Ben Fogle and major nursery retailers including John Lewis & Mothercare & JoJo Maman Bebe across the UK

"Life’s busy enough with the kids and when everything’s in place it means that we as a family are free to go and do the things we want. It can be something as simple as a trip to the park, playground or more adventurous travels to far-flung places but knowing that I’m organised is one less thing to worry about.

What drew me to the Hastings bag was the style, there are so many colourful and girly changing bags out there which although look the part, lack somewhat in the storage and space side of things! This is the perfect unisex bag, with plenty of space, enough pockets to store everything safely and is easily adjustable too, it's actually the most practical changing bag we've tested and is now Ben's favourite too!

A stylish but practical knapsack/changing bag that retains the charm of this much-loved, old school classic but hidden inside is a strong and capable companion that will handle whatever you throw at it! The top loading utilitarian style is easy to pack and enhanced by the new to flat pack feeder & changer pods & mat which are simple to clean and fold up when not in use. Quality detailing and durable fabrics make this the most practical and travel companion you will ever need.

What's included?
Changer Pod
Flat Pack Feeder
Changing mat
Pram handle clips
Body Strap

Also free from Phthalates & tested to EC & BS food standards!

Size: 40cm x 32cm x 21cm
There is plenty of room to store everything you need, including a separate area for your nappies, wipes and the changing mat! A pouch at the front with enough space for your valuables such as your phone, car keys and anything else you need to grab quickly without rummaging through the rest of the bag!

Overall we both love this changing bag, it's light, practical, sturdy, made from high quality materials and is perfect for both Mummy and Daddy! Plenty of space, oozing with practicality and perfect all year round! Oh and the perfect place for Iggle Piggle and Upsy Daisy to keep out the sun apparently...

Review | House of Fraser Summer Picnic

Good morning all!
Hope you've all been enjoying the sunshine!

We were recently contacted by House of Fraser to take part in their Picnic in Summer campaign, where they very generously gave us the opportunity to review some clothes for Abbie from their website, already being a big fan of them and only looking at their site a week or so before, I was looking forward to picking some outfits for Abbie! She's at the perfect age now where she can wear proper 'big girl' clothes, with it being Summer, I really wanted to choose colours that were going to be bright and well, summery!

Outfit 1

So the first item I chose were these absolutely adorable Pumpkin Patch broiderie shorts, Abbie only had one pair of shorts and considering how hot it's been getting, it was about time she had some more! I think what drew me to these were the little crochet flowers and also the fact they were adjustable! Abbie is 22 months old and is still in 12-18 month clothing, she only has a little belly so everything falls off her if we go any bigger! These were still loose on her but the hidden adjustment on the inside was perfect, no more running after her to pull her shorts up all day! :)

Currently on offer for only £6.99! :)

Next I chose this pretty Yellow Broidore Top, again it looked super summery but also girly, the little peter pan style collar is adorable and flowery buttons to match just add that super pretty touch! It's a little big for Abbie still so will get plenty of wear for the rest of the summer!

Here she is running around the fields with her gorgeous little outfit and matching Little Miss Sunshine high tops! :)

Outfit 2

The first item we chose were these gorgeous Polarn O Pyret yellow jeans! I think these were actually the first item I picked out, Abbie looks so cute in yellow and these were so cute I couldn't resist! More of a mustard yellow this time rather than sun yellow, they really give that little vintage style to their outfit (not that she knows) but I do! :). Again, this were also adjustable on the waist so we could make them the perfect fit, although they were a little long, that's down to Abbie being a bit little in height as opposed to bad sizing! But we rolled them up and they still looked just as adorable as before!

The second item for this outfit was this adorable Pumpkin Patch denim tie up shirt, I was looking for a top like this for her for so long and had already added it to my basket on the house of fraser website, it literally goes with everything, shorts, jeans, skirts and can be layered up too with a tshirt underneath or a little cardigan over the top!

Now on offer to £5.99!

Visit the house of fraser website now for more adorable clothes for your little ones, as well as for yourself, your home and the rest of the family!

Review | Litetrax by Joie

Hello all!

Today I have a review for you of the gorgeous pushchair Litetrax by Joie, a stylish and sporty three-wheeler, designed and engineered to transport your little rider from newborn onwards! What drew me to the Litetrax was the simplicity, we all need one of those pushchairs that is simple to use and light, but we still want it to look good too, you don't have to compromise on style, especially when it comes to Joie products!

Joie was created by a UK group of friends and parents with one simple mission: to share joy with new parents worldwide. The final products were created with the best design, engineering and safety means possible ensuring you have the greatest... We draw on decades of industry experience that stems from our devotion to do what is right for parents, children and the environment.

As a result, each Joie product is created to make life with small children less work and more fun! Yay!

As soon as it arrived we unboxed it and popped everything together, the instructions were easy to follow and most of the steps are pretty explanatory! Within 10 minutes it was all put together and we adjusted all the straps and moved the harness up into the right position for Abbie! All of which took about 10 minutes again, it was a little fiddly but we got there in the end!

Out of the pushchairs we have tried and tested, Ben has said that this is his favourite by far, the steering is easy (although I would love it if the handlebars were adjustable, that's my only critiscm), the shape of the pushchair is perfect, curved and sleek and easy to manoeuvre too!

Our favourite part of the pushchair? This is going to seem rather silly, but as a parent you want a pushchair that is compact and easy to fold, and this is amazing, with a secret hidden strap under the seat, just pull up and it folds in half, one little push together till it clicks and you have the most compact pushchair i've ever seen!

I also love the size of the shopping basket, unlike a lot of pushchairs I've seen, this is both wide and deep! It's also set up a bit further from the ground so your shopping won't be dragging on the floor when it's full!

One thing I did notice about the pushchair was that the seat itself was set a lot lower than any previous we've tried, it did take a little getting used to but Abbie didn't seem to notice and it was much easier for her to get herself in and out too! The seat is super easy to recline, just like most pushchairs you simply flip up the clip on the back and release the straps, it is full reclinable, from flat down to straight upwards, however your little one likes to sit, or whatever age they are, they will definitely find their comfortable spot!

"The Joie Litetrax is perfect for parents on the go, with an ultra compact folded package which locks closed automatically and fits easily in small boots. A sporty 3-wheeled aluminium chassis and front swivel wheel makes manoeuvring the pushchair a breeze on any road. The thickly quilted seat provides ultimate comfort and lies flat to welcome infant riders. Recline the seat smoothly with just one hand to ensure you won't wake a sleepy baby, or click in your Joie Group 0+ infant carrier (no adaptors required) to create an effortless travel system.

Litetrax's large expandable hood means baby can always stay shaded, and its ventilated window allows for airflow on warmer days. The large, easy access storage basket has plenty of room for baby's-and mum's-essentials, so you can shop, stroll, or travel with ease."

Features
Forward facing three wheeler pushchair
Travel system compatible with all Joie Group 0+ infant carriers
Multi-position, one hand flat reclining seat
Compact fold: L80.8 x W56.5 x H26cm. Weight: 9.58kg
Quick release, locking double front swivel wheel
Streamlined 3-wheel chassis
One hand quick compact fold easily accessed in the middle of seat
All wheel suspension and single step, ShoeSaver brake
Large, easy access shopping basket
Large, expandable hood with mesh ventilated window
Multi-position calf rest

Overall we are super impressed with the Litetrax, it is everything you could need in a pushchair, from the simplicity to the design, the size of the basket to the compactness (that's a word right?). This is our go to pushchair for when we're off out and about, it's the easiest and most compact so takes us one minute to fold it up and pop in the boot of the car!
