We're Butlins Ambassadors!

Good morning all!

As you might know if you follow me on social media, we were recently picked to be Butlins Ambassadors for 2014/15! I was so shocked to be picked and definitely wasn't expecting it, when I saw the email I may have gotten a little emotional...the fact we could now have our first family holiday was amazing! Butlins was always one of those places all my friends went when they were younger, but it was never somewhere I ever went, I actually didn't know just how much it has changed since then until I went in for the application, it was a whole new place, complete with amazingly designed hotels, funfairs and an array of restaurants too, all whilst being on the coast just adds the cherry on top!

We are so lucky to have been picked, alongside another 9 lovely bloggers, we all get the same benefits and this is what the role provides;

  • 1 x 3 night weekend or 4 night midweek break to be taken in the school holidays
  • 1 x 3 night weekend or 4 night midweek break to be taken in the school term time.
  • The opportunity to stay in one of the 3 amazing hotels in Bognor Regis!
  • Dining package (breakfast and dinner) for your stay on both of the breaks
  • Up to 6 people per family may visit per break (3 generational holidays are encouraged!).
Everything we could possibly need in terms of a quality family holiday together! We've actually chosen the Shoreline Hotel for our first break which will be in the next few months! Eek!

In return, we get to do the fun bit, the bit we love the most, the blogging about our trips! We will review the different areas including accommodation, dining, service and more, it's our chance to provide you with an honest and genuine review of the resorts, just because the trips are provided for free, does not mean we 'have to' be nice and positive either, our aim is to help those of you who, like us, want a proper family holiday and need a genuine upfront opinion to help you along your way! We are going to rate each section out of 10 and will be taking photos throughout our stay as well as Tweeting & Instgramming along the way!

Our First Trip - Bognor Regis
With this being our first time away as a family, just the 3 of us, we wanted to choose the resort that was closest to us, we are pretty lucky in that both Minehead and Bognor Regis are less than 2 hours away! We are heading over there over the next few months and cannot wait to get there, we've already written out our plans for the few days and a list of everything we need to take, have I mentioned i'm a bit OCD, it's only 2 A4 pieces long....

What's included;

Splash Waterworld - This is the main reason i'm on a diet at the moment, there is NO WAY i'm missing out on the water slides and splashing with Abbie! I think i'm more excited than all the other kids that are going...Whether it’s riding again and again on the raft rides and flumes or drifting around the lazy river, everyone will find their favourite place to play. And there’s a special shallow area for little ones, complete with mini slides and fountains which is ideal for their first experience in the water! Perfect for us as Abbie hasn't ever been swimming!

Traditional Fairground

An outdoor Traditional Fairground for older children and a specially designed Little Star's funfair for your little ones, there's definitely something for everyone! Plus it's all included when you book, which means you can go on all the rides as many times as you like, yay!

Live shows, crafts, family activities, sports coaching as well as the chance for your little ones to meet their favourite characters! Everything we could need all in one, oh and with a beach walking distance from every part of the resort, some sand angels will definitely have to be made, it'll be far too cold for a swim after all!

Visit all the other bloggers who were chosen too! It might help make up your mind on which resort sounds like the best one for your family!

James - Daddy Space
Katherine - Mummy Pink Wellies
Hannah - A New Addition
Emily - A Mummy Too

We won't give too much else away, but you can expect A LOT of photos when the posts go live! :)

Thule Presents | Active with Kids Products

I was recently introduced to an amazing brand called Thule, who offer a wide range of products for active people, this includes bike carriers, roof racks, roof boxes as well as child bike seats and multifunctional strollers too! Perfect products for when you're planning a family holiday and need to kit out your car with high quality and safe products, Thule are there to provide you with everything. It's not just UK based either, the products are now sold in more than 125 countries world-wide!

I previously wrote a post introducing the Thule Ride Along Mini, a front mounted bike seat for your little ones, perfect if you already have a regular seat on the back and have 2 little ones to ride around! You can view more about this here :)

A few weeks ago, Thule presented their full product category Active with Kids at the children's fair Kind und Jugend in Germany, although the category was first introduced last year, they have recently included the award winning products such as the Thule Glide stroller (more information below) the Chariot Child Carrier and the Ride Along too which we have been reviewing this past week, I cannot wait to share with you all how we found it!

You can visit the Thule website for full product information! For now, I want to share with you all about the new Thule Urban Glide stroller! :)

Thule Urban Glide Stroller
As we all know, there are so many types of strollers out there, and just about something to suit everyone, but I did always notice a gap in the market for a "sporty" one, whether you were a keen jogger or runner before your little one arrived or you're just looking at getting back into shape yourself, the Urban Glide will be your best friend! It's an all-around sports stroller with sleek and lightweight design making it perfect for urban life! Nifty features such as adjustable ergonomic handlebars, foot brake, adjustable sun canopy, lock out front wheel, rear suspension for a smooth and comfortable ride, you can just imagine them bouncing around everyone as you jog ha ha, plus a soft padded seat and horizontal sleeping position for napping, what's better is that it also has a one handed folding for compact storing and transporting, yay!

"The Thule Urban Glide can be used for babies between 0-6 months as a stroller. The stroller is recommended for running or walking on rougher terrain when the child is older than 6 months (the child has to be able to hold its head up by itself). Weight goes up to 22 kg."

The stroller comes in three colours, in single or double versions and will be on the market later this Autumn!

Fashion | Toddler Styling with Sainsbury's!

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6

When it comes to buying clothes for Abbie, I don't want to spend a lot of money, but I want things that are still going to look cute, stylish and high quality! There are so many places that sell gorgeous kids clothes and I have to be honest, I think supermarkets provide the best! Sainsbury's in particular always have amazing bits, every season when stock is rotated, i'm amazed at the quality and variety they have! Now we're coming into Autumn, they have created looks with the main colours purple, brown and red and I have to say I love it so much! We have a Sainsburys store not too far from us with everything you can imagine when it comes to providing for your little ones, shoes, tops, jeans, coats, vests, pyjamas, everything, the prices are always really reasonable and perfect if you're on a budget (who isn't eh!).

Above I have picked my favourite bits from the Sainsburys Tu website for you all, and explained them below as well as prices etc...

Skinny Jeans
I still think skinny jeans are the most adorable item of clothing a toddler can wear, they instantly look so grown up in them, Abbie's at the age now where she stuffs things in the pockets so every time I do the washing I have to check them for pieces of lego and crisps! These jeans come in a dark wash with adorable little heart buttons!

Cat Jumper
Now it's cooling down, fluffy jumpers are perfect for layering them up and keeping them warm, I loved the style of this with the little cat face on the front and a little red bow for added detail, plus a cricket style hem and cuff, to finish off the look, it's a must have this season to add to your little girlie's wardrobe!

Price: £9
Average Price Online: £14
Saving: £5

Blue Gilet
This is probably my favourite item from the autumn collection, a gorgeous navy blue quilted material with a tan trim matched with pretty little brown bows and a black and white heart lining inside, it will no doubt keep them warm this season! There are also adorable little heart poppers to to keep them snug! I would suggest getting one size up from what they usually wear as it'll be on top of 2 or 3 layers depending on the weather! It also looks so much more expensive than it actually is..

Cat T-shirts
Basic tshirts are a must for any childs wardrobe, they pretty much wearing them every single day and are bound to get them mucky quickly so you don't want to spend a fortune! Sainsburys always have amazing tshirt bundles which is why we get most of Abbie;s from there! With these you will get a pack of 3 cat inspired tops, the first is a lovely tan colour which has an adorable little cat decal, the second is a white top with lots of little cat faces across it whilst the this is just a plain autumnal red tee with slightly ruffled sleeves!

Boots
You can't complete an outfit without shoes, and these new boots from Sainsburys really are gorgeous, keeping in theme with the tan look, these are sturdy, amazing quality and have a really pretty 3D butterfly effect across one side with little flowers, the heel is low so easy to walk in and they will make that clip cloppy noise as your little ones walk (which they all love!). Match it with some skinny jeans, tee, fluffy jumper and a black winter hat and your little one will be all set for winter!

Price: £14
Average Price Online: £25
Saving: £11

Purple Jeans
Just to add a splash of colour to this collection, I added these gorgeous purple jeans, with little ruffled pockets, a turned up hem on the legs and an elasticated waist band, these jeans will probably fit them for a good 6-12 months beyond their age, we actually got these for Abbie at our local store and were so impressed with the quality, soft enough they can still jump and run in without restriction any movement! Adding a splash of plum to their autumn wardrobe is a must have :)

Review | Cosatto Hug Carseat

Todays post is a review of the Go Lightly Hug Carseat from Cosatto. Cosatto are my favourite brand when it comes to pushchairs & car seats, with their stunning designs and funky patterns, they have very quickly become one of the most popular brands in the country! Their slogan 'Baby Stuff with Personality' is exactly what they provide, we are lucky enough to be Brand Buddy's for them and have enjoyed testing out a range of other products too! They are below :)

My first thought of the car seat was the size of it, it is pretty big, but when you ask someone for a hug no-one wants a little one, it's gotta be big!! :) We are used to our Mamas and Papas which is probably half the size, with that in mind Cosatto have described it as a 'big teddy bear with tough guy credentials' and I couldn't agree more, with comfort and style as well as supreme safety and a gorgeous pattern, it's everything you could need in a car seat! The Hug is suitable from 9 months right through to 11 years so despite the fact it's a little on the pricier side, it will be the only car seat you will need until they grow out of it!

Features
Conforms to ECE R44/04
Easy to install
Forward facing
Fits both front and rear seats
Side impact protection
5 position recline
5 point safety harness with quick release buckle
Compatible with standard 3 point seat belt
Height adjustable head rest
Comfy padded armrests
Size: L: 64cm W: 50cm D: 50cm
Weight: 9.5kg

"The squishy tummy and chest pads will keep precious passengers snug and safe on every journey. With luxury fabrics, piping and leatherette details Hug is a premium quality plush car seat"

I think the Golightly design is my favourite, it's modern and girly without being over the top, it can grow with Abbie and stay in 'style' throughout the years too! Abbie absolutely loves this car seat, she kept trying to strap herself in before we'd even adjusted the straps, I think she just loves a good ol trip in the car! But seeing her in it looking comfortable and secure is a big thing off my shoulders :)

Installing
We did have a few problems getting it into the car properly, we had a Mamas & Papas one before which we've been used to taking out and putting back in, we assumed all car seats were the same, how wrong we were ha ha. We followed the instructions and through a bit of fiddling we finally got the hang of it, it did take about 30 minutes to get everything in and secure properly but thats a small price to pay for ensuring it is perfectly installed!

You can buy your very own Hug carseat for £220 either online with Cosatto or from one of their national partners listed on the website! Cosatto have lots of other fab and funky designs to choose from, including the new A/W collection you don't want to miss! My 2 favourites are the Kimono Ooba & Orange Squash 3sixti Highchair!
