50 Things to do this christmas!

My favourite time of the year is approaching super fast, so i'd be lying if I said I wasn't already super duper excited! Growing up I really had the best Christmases and was always kept busy in the run up to it too, I was always far too excited as soon as December hit that I needed things to keep me occupied! There's a little quote out here somewhere that says "I thought the best thing about Christmas was being a kid, but it's actually having children". No longer am I bothered about presents for myself, it's all about Abbie and making it a magical experience for her, and I believe the older she gets, the more magical it becomes!

This year is probably the first year she can get excited about everything properly, she already sings "We wish you a merry Christmas" and knows who Santa is too, although she doesn't care for opening presents still, I think this year we will keep the bigger presents unwrapped and on show when she comes downstairs, and the smaller ones wrapped up! With that being said, before the big day, we have lots of things we can get done to really get into the Christmas spirit, i've conjured up a list of 50 things you can do before then to help!

12 No Bake Treats!

Although baking is one of my favourite things to do, sometimes I just don't have the time to wait for the oven to cook things, on those days when you have other things to do, you need recipes you can make quickly then leave to set in the fridge whilst you run your errands! With Christmas coming up, you might want to make some yummy things last minute for a party or family gathering, so these are perfect for that! Granted some of these aren't the healthiest but they are delicious and Christmas is a time to treat yourself after all ;)

Here are my favourite 12 from the web, enjoy! :)

Winter Warmer Recipes

There's something about winter that gives me inspiration to cook more meals! Let's face it, no one wants to slave away in a kitchen during the Summer so salads usually suffice! But when the weather is dreary and it's cold enough for hats and gloves, you're probably going to want something hot, comforting and filling for dinner! For me, my favourite winter warmer has to be Beef Stew and Dumplings, full of yummy root veg, homemade dumplings, with a side of garlic mash and extra peas! YUM! (Mum if you're reading, i'm talking about yours!), it just takes me back to my childhood and makes me feel all toasty inside!

I love trying new foods and experimenting with cooking, but I like it to be simple and tasty and not have to spend £40 on ingredients for just one meal either, at the end of the week we tend to look in the fridge, cupboards and drawers and try and make one final meal using what's left over, it's actually pretty fun to do and means you're not wasting any food either!

Everyone has a different idea of winter warmers, the recipes below are my favourites online and are all bookmarked for me to try too!

Christmas Treats!

I'm at it again, posting treats like these are becoming an addiction, I want to make every single thing right now! Christmas is probably one time of the year we all like to indulge, if you can resist all the yumminess, I take my hat off to you, seriously well done!

For me, Christmas is all about family, spending quality time together, laughing and generally just enjoying everything! I'm not bothered about presents for myself, but seeing Abbie open up hers is my favourite thing ever! Aside from the joy it brings Abbie, my most favourite thing is the food, Christmas dinner, chocolate, biscuit tins, Hot Chocolates, buffet food, cheese boards, everything, I will eat more in 3 days than I have the whole year put together!

I know it's much easier to go out and buy it all, you could actually save your self some money by making your own yummy treats! Not only can they make great last minute gifts, but seeing everyones faces once they've tried them is priceless, that is if you haven't eaten them all beforehand!

Below I have found a bunch of yummy recipes online, so if you're looking for some inspiration, enjoy!

12 DIY Christmas Gifts!

I'm not going to sit here and pretend i'm a DIY goddess or anything, in fact i'm quite the opposite, but it doesn't stop me from trying. I think a lot of crafting tutorials can look pretty daunting and usually there are so many products you need to buy, you might as well just buy the thing you want outright! But when it comes to Christmas and other special occasions, I do think it's nice to just go for it and give DIY projects a good old go!

Personally I love handmade items, whether it's something made by a friend or bought from a  little independent shop, they're usually more rustic and unique, and just kinda mean that little bit more!

I've gone through Pinterest and the internet for some fun DIY gift ideas, and have collected by favourites below, which ones will you try?
